Dias Carneiro welcomes two new partners

Dias Carneiro has announced the admission of new partners Maurício Chapinoti and Álvaro Brito Arantes to the firm, joining the areas of Tax and Customs, and Dispute Resolution and Civil Litigation, respectively.

Their arrival brings the total number of partners at Dias Carneiro to 18, reinforcing its long-term vision. We are thrilled to welcome such prominent lawyers in the Brazilian market. Chapinoti and Arantes will build on what has been a very successful growth trajectory for our firm. We are excited about what the combination of their expertise with our market leading teams will mean for our clients said Antonio Amendola, Dias Carneiro’s managing partner.

Tax and Customs

Maurício Chapinoti’s experience includes several years working at Pinheiro Neto Advogados and EY, and as a partner at TozziniFreire and Vidigal Neto Advogados, where he worked alongside Rafael Balanin and Victória de Oliveira Dourado, who will be joining him at Dias Carneiro.

Chapinoti has carved out a successful practice in tax consulting and tax litigation matters, assisting domestic and foreign clients in various sectors, including financial and capital, telecommunications, energy, real estate, and intellectual property. He also practices in the international taxation area, having worked at Loyens & Loeff (in the Netherlands) and at Royaltystat (in the United States of America).

Dias Carneiro has a multidisciplinary platform and a long-term growth commitment that prioritizes its culture and excellency standards. The Tax practice also has a strong track record and I have always felt a fellowship with its partners. All of these factors contributed to my decision to join the firm, said Chapinoti.

Dispute Resolution and Civil Litigation

Álvaro Brito Arantes joins from Muriel Medici Franco Advogados accompanied by his team, which includes associates Marina Sampaio Galvani, Caio Augusto dos Reis, Isabela Tan Arcuri and intern Ana Clara Lazzari de Freitas.

Arantes has a breadth of civil and commercial litigation knowledge across complex legal matters, with emphasis on contractual disputes – especially involving long-term distribution and supply agreements –, product liability, class actions, tort litigation, trademarks and credit recovery, including judicial restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings.

About his move, Arantes said that he was drawn to joining Dias Carneiro due to its full-service structure and high-caliber team, which means not only a great cross-selling potential, but also a one-stop solution for clients.

Continuous growth

Last month, Dias Carneiro has promoted associate Pedro Malvezzi de Araújo to counsel, reinforcing the M&A practice a year after the strategic hire of partner Paula Seabra Carvalho Reis. Earlier this year, the firm has also approved the promotion of real estate counsel Paulo Afonso Tavares Rodrigues to partner-level.

Our growth in the market is a direct result of the high quality and dedication of our professionals. For this reason, we are committed to creating new opportunities with focus on talent appreciation and development, added Antonio Amendola.
