Gabriela de Pádua Azevedo Marques’s practice covers the area of Environmental Law and Health Law, with special focus on Life Sciences and matters related to Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa). Her activities involve medications and pharmaceutical sectors, biotechnology, food and food supplements, cosmetics, medical products, sanitation products, among others.

She was consultant in the CAP (Comitê de Avaliação de Processos) at the Department of Genetic Heritage, a division of the Ministry of Environment from September 2007 to July 2008. Gabriela worked evaluating the requests for access to genetic resources and traditional knowledge for bioprospecting purposes under the Genetic Heritage Management Council (CGEN).

She was professor, from 2003 to 2005, in the specialization course of Environmental Law at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS).
