Three White & Case LLP offices and BMA – Barbosa, Müssnich, Aragão in São Paulo have helped Brazilian telecoms company Oi present creditors with amendments to its US$20 billion restructuring plan – which was approved in 2019 – in a bid to get higher offers on assets put up for sale and extend new loans.
The company, which is Brazil’s largest fixed telephone operator, announced the amendments on 14 August, with creditors set to vote on the proposals on 8 September.
Oi’s 2019 restructuring is the largest ever private-sector reorganisation in Latin America.
Several other Brazilian firms are advising different creditors in the latest development.
