The transaction was highlighted by the global directory Latin Lawyer, which published an article regarding the complex project financing of up to US$243 million to finance the Mendubim solar project.
Dias Carneiro Advogados advised IDB Invest, IDB, Banco Santander and BNP Paribas on a complex financing project related to the Mendubim solar power plant. The financing of up to US$243 million – approximately R$1.2 billion – aims at the construction of the solar plants of the 531 MW Mendubim complex in the city of Assú, Rio Grande do Norte. This is another landmark project, not only because of its magnitude, but also because of its peculiar characteristics, such as PPA indexed to USD, presence of self-production, risk participation structure, and presence of three foreign sponsors.
In addition to contributing to the diversification process of the Brazilian energy matrix through the addition of renewable sources, the project will also generate value for the local community, since during its construction phase, it will provide the creation of more than a thousand direct and indirect jobs.
Our work, in this and other similar projects, reinforces the solid expertise we have built in high complexity financing projects and our commitment to economic and sustainable development, allied to the ESG agenda.
