Dias Carneiro appoints partner to new private wealth group

Brazilian Highly Recommended firm Dias Carneiro Advogados has launched a private wealth practice and hired a partner from local firm Melcheds Advogados to lead its efforts in the field.
Dias Carneiro announced on 1 February that it had launched the new department and appointed Vanessa Scuro, 45, as its head. Scuro brought one associate with her to Dias Carneiro, which now has 20 partners.
Dias Carneiro’s managing partner Antonio Amendola says the firm’s corporate and tax practices have worked for years with family-held companies, advising on strategic planning and succession issues, and recently noted heightened demand for private wealth advice. “In light of the covid-19 pandemic, many clients indicated a growing need for this type of legal service and we concluded that now would be a great moment to bring Vanessa in,” he adds.
