Creditas’ BRL 155 Million Loan Facility

The U.S. based firm of DLA Piper LLP (US) advised IDB Invest as NY counsel and Conyers Dill & Pearman advised IDB Invest as Cayman counsel. Brazilian law advice was provided by Dias Carneiro Advogados. Fonseca Marques Advogados advised Creditas as local transaction counsel.

The Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), acting as agent on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), signed a BRL 155,808,000 secured loan facility to Creditas Soluções Financeiras Ltda. (Creditas) and guaranteed by Creditas Financial Solutions LLC (Delaware) and Creditas Financial Solutions Ltd. (Cayman).

Creditas is one of the newest Brazilian unicorns.

The proceeds of the loan will be used for the Borrower’s origination of sub-loans to sub-borrowers to pay or reimburse the costs of the financing, refinancing or origination of loans to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and vulnerable populations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil.
