The transaction, the value of which is confidential, closed on 5 October.
With the merger, the companies aim to create a platform to upskill professionals’ technological skills that are highly sought after in the Latin American market. A study by Microsoft has predicted that, in Brazil alone, the demand for developers will create 6.3 million new jobs by 2025.
Rocketseat is an online education company that provides professional technical training to students all over the country. Located in the southern Brazilian municipality of Rio do Sul, it has trained more than 400,000 students.
Founded in 2016, Digital House focuses on developing technological talent through remote online courses. With operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay, the company has trained more than 28,000 students.
Earlier this year, Digital House acquired Argentine online education company Acámica. Prior to that, the group raised US$50 million in a funding round to expand its learning operations, as well as its e-commerce, digital marketing and cybersecurity products.
