Covid-19 | São Paulo Court of Appeals edits pilot project for mediation and virtual settlement hearings, during the pandemic
Last Friday, 17th, the Judicial Internal Affairs Office of São Paulo edited a pilot project of pre- litigation mediation and settlement proceedings aimed at “corporate disputes arising from the effects of COVID-19″.
The main purpose for creating the project is to establish a pre-litigation measure of self-mediation in this moment of crisis by the COVID-19, to try to avoid the mass judicialization of disputes involving business contracts and corporate demands.
The forecast is that the hearings will be held virtually, via Microsoft teams, and the project may be extended for up to 120 days after the end of the home office routine of the State Courts of São Paulo, to be determined by the by the Judicial Internal Affairs Office of São Paulo.
